La Jolie Muse

La Jolie Muse is a female-led luxury candle brand crafted to transport you to faraway places while committing to bringing high-quality, non-toxic fragrance to the world, emphasizing home as a sanctuary. The brand was in need of a unique logo mark to use on a new line of candle packaging, while standing out from the oversaturated home fragrance market. I was brought on to create the logo mark and offer my hand-lettering and illustration skills to craft additional elements to be used on print and digital channels.

Logo Mark Storytelling

In the final stages, two unique brand marks were presented to the client that provided a deeper level of story-telling that was missing from previous contractors. The final logo mark went through multiple rounds of iterations and development to create something that was scalable, and at the same time, definitive of the growing brand presence on shelves.

We wanted to present the muse, a confident and joyful force who is the source of inspiration for a creative act, surrounded by natural elements that reflect the quality of ingredients used in the product. Wearing a key as an earring, she is the keeper of the sanctuary, calling back to the sentiment that scent transforms a space into a home.

Concepts & Iterations

Many concepts and iterations were presented, including a deeper, and inclusive, exploration of the muse, as well as the concept of a window transporting to a faraway world.

Custom Hand-Lettering & Typography

As part of the packaging exploration, custom hand-lettering was created as an additional element to customize the brand visual tone.

Scent Note Illustrations

Several scent notes for the candle line were illustrated to support multiple concepts.
Notes of rose, iris, mandarin orange, green tea and fig make the room yours.
